Cardinals win two straight

Filed under: Uncategorized — dto @ 1:33 pm

Tanner and his team are on somewhat of a roll. They have won two straight. One against the Mets and one against the Red Sox. This is the longest winning streak they have had in a couple of years (I know, pretty sad).

Tanner is playing well. He got down on himself for his pitching last night. He seems to quickly forget that he isn’t a pitcher by trade and hasn’t been trained for years and years as a pitcher. Yes he walked in a number of runs, but he is getting better and is throwing more and more strikes. It is all in his head and is a mental game. He’ll be just fine.

He is hitting fairly well, not for power, but is getting on base regularly. I hope he is having fun. Sometimes through the tears it is hard to tell.

Usually I only make pancakes on Saturday mornings, but I couldn’t sleep well and so I got up and had pancakes ready for everyone.

Kiki just devoured it without even waiting for syrup.

Oh well – there isn’t much that can be done about it.

General Priesthood Session 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:54 pm

We got out of ‘Civil War’ late, so I got to the meeting late. Typically we would meet up at Mom and Dad’s house and all the boys would go over. Not only am I late, but Dad is really sick and mom won’t let him go (probably for the best) – so here I am at Matt’s stake. Things are a bit odd, but good.

Small changes in coorinates up front make large changes dow the road. Large tradgedy by minor errors.

Story of Saul

Stay the course – do what is right.

Nobody wants tradgedy, but sometimes we allow for small errors and minor drifts which put us way off course.

The longer we delay our course correction, the longer it takes to get back.

Quickly make our course corrections and come back. We all make errors. Try to minimize and also quickly come back.

Per usual – we went out to dinner after conference. The three of us went to “New Dragon Diner” and enjoyed Chinese food. It is a favorite place of Kris and me. Jon and Matt liked it as well. It is pretty good food and it is really inexpensive.

After dinner we went over and picked up donuts for conference morning breakfast tomorrow. Its all good.

Cass, Kris, and Dave went to see the production of the Civil War at Hale Theater.

The production was good, but not great. Merril Osmond was supposed to perform, but he didn’t. We got the understudy. I can see how this could have been really great on Broadway, but it just didn’t really do it for me at Hale theater. The highlights were the slavery scenes and dancing. Those scenes were fun, emotional, powerful, and very enjoyable.
