Can I go to bed yet?

Filed under: Uncategorized — dto @ 8:51 am

Wow –

It is only 8:30 am and the day has already been bad enough to warrant crawling back under the covers and starting over.

At one point we had 5 people and the dog in our bed this morning, Lex and T were yelling at each other at 6:30 am, I was out of shower goo, I dropped the tub of butter hydrogenated vegetable oil (I’m not allowed to call it butter, or margarine, or even yellow death) and it spilled all over me, Lex knocked the DVR off the TV and put a gash in the wall, Lex through a huge attitude fit, Lex and I made french toast with eggshell bits, and then I finally got out of the house. I thought I was somewhat safe…

Somehow I made it to the parking lot without a major incident. On my walk from the car to the building I slipped down a muddy hill, covering my pants in mud. I of course also had muddy arms, hands, and ipod. I didn’t dare drive back home so I just made good use of the shower facilities at work and cleaned myself up as best I could.

I’m now sitting at my desk, dreading to open my emails for today. I’m sure that something has gone tragically wrong and its my fault.

Can I just shut the office door and go to sleep?

We had family night and then took the kids over to Macey’s for a cheap icecream cone – always a hit.

Tiring Weekend

Filed under: Uncategorized — dto @ 10:05 pm

It has been a long weekend. We did a number of things and I’m pooped. Between bike rides to the breadstore with Cassy, ride to and from Grandma’s house with Tanner, a ride to Holiday with Lexi, and short rides with Parker and Abigail I put 35 miles on the bike.

Kris and I were able to get out for a night out, but the kids behaved badly and it ruined the time we were able to spend together.

I know I need to work on controlling my feelings. I let myself get extremely frustrated at things that are probably not all that important. I wish that the kids could just get along a bit better. They are at the point of hurting each other at times and it is difficult to know how to handle things.

Anyway – I’m tired and need to get my head focused on the events of the week. I have so much to do at work, and so much to do here. I’m not sure how it will all get done.
