Mom’s wind chimes

Filed under: family — dto @ 8:39 pm

Thanks for putting these up Holly. I know Mom loves them. Sorry the video is sideways. I guess I blew it, but you get the point.

Stupid Grave Robbers

Filed under: family — dto @ 8:37 pm

Grave robbers are nubs. Someone stole most of the flowers from Mom’s grave. I was looking forward to taking the flowers we brought home and planting them as a season-long reminder. I was bummed out. Someone also stole the solar light from Grandpa’s grave as well. I don’t get it. Hopefully whoever took them enjoys them and gets good use from them. I just wish that it was me.
Grrrr.

Dad’s first family dinner. He didn’t do badly either. Noodles, sauce, and multiple types of meat. Oh yea, cheese on top to boot. We even dug out some frozen peas from the freezer. Paper-ware and cans o pop too. What could be better?

Shopping with Kiki

Can’t seem to take the kids anywhere without them finding some weird way to have fun.
We were trying to find Tanner pants. Kiki wasn’t much help.

Where are all the cool kids?

Either I am totally our of the fashion circle (which I freely admit) or someone matched the garanimal bluebird with the rhino.
Oh, and the heavy metal hoodie doesn’t help either.

Just another fine Overstock lagoon day.

Overstock.com Lagoon Day

We had a long and fun day at Lagoon. Cassidy hung out with her friends. Tanner and Kris stayed home and I had the rest plus cousin Brooke. It was a long, tiring, but fun day.
The most frustrating part was that Abbi wouldn’t go on any rides at all. She wouldn’t even go on the merry-go-round. I probably shouldn’t have forced her on a couple of rides, but I did and she didn’t cry. She was the only frustrating aspect of the day.

Life is good!

Honey-Do Failure

Filed under: family — dto @ 8:32 pm

Well – I failed at the honey-do list today. I actually didn’t get a single thing done that was on the list. The DI, insurance company, and Costco were closed. I didn’t even try to do the groupon thing either.

I did:
* Run 9 miles
* Take Tanner out of the house (tried to go to DI, but didn’t)
* Purchased food for dinner – nothing says american quite like Fajitas
* Took the kids to a movie at Valley Fair Mall – only to come out and find my battery totally dead and not even jumpable.
* Replaced battery in the car while trying to keep the kids from running around in the parking lot too much.
* Looked at new running shoes – Tanner thought the store was great
* Made dinner – my fajitas were awesome if I do say so myself
* Bought Cassidy a ukulele since we are going to join the Utah Ukulele Association
* Took Tanner’s portrait for his upcoming autobiography – soon to be published on lulu.com.
* Dropped the Altima off at the repair shop so that the catalytic converter can be replaced – $1000 – Poof!

So much for my list and a relatively sane day. So glad I could relax on the holiday. Actually, it was nice. I didn’t get all the things done that I should have, but I had a good time and enjoyed spending one on one time with Cass and Tann. Also, the time with the other kids at the movies was fun too.

Life is really good. I have a great family. I wish that my mom was here to see them all growing like weeds, but I’ll have to settle for the fact that she is watching from above and is still enjoying it. That’s all for now. I have to get some work done for work tomorrow – no rest for the wicked – right?
