Lighting of the Christmas tree. A little later than usual this year, but we got it done. Abbi was very intent on getting it just right.

Abbi solo talk

Filed under: family — dto @ 2:39 pm

Abbi had a talk in primary and she totally killed it. She didn’t want pictures or any help. She told the story of Samuel the Lamanite and the believers that were nearly killed. She told the story with pretty good detail and then said “that’s it – I’m done”
She did great. I wish I had audio or video of the talk. I never could have done that well at her age. Our five year old orator. Well done Abbi.

Parker’s Baptism

Filed under: family — dto @ 8:59 pm

I was able to baptize Parker today. We had a nice service with the family over at the Stake Center. I’m proud of Parker to have made the decision to be baptized. He handled it very well and it was a good thing for our family. It is hard to believe that he has grown up so much. When did he get to be eight years old? Time flies by.
On a sad note, we held the baptism in the same place as we did six months ago for Kennedy. At that point both Mom and Grandpa were with us. I remember wondering if it would be Mom’s last baptism, but pushed it out of my mind thinking she’d be around for a bit longer. It wasn’t but a month after Kennedy’s baptism that she was gone. I’m sure that she was watching and beaming at the sight of Parker being baptized and handling himself so well. Parker has made big strides over the past year or so. I love that little guy.
