Oldroyd Family Life and Times of an Oldroyd

Last week

This was quite a week. Everyone was going a million miles an hour in different directions. Hopefully next week will calm down a little bit.
Cassidy finished up her YTU class and had their performance. Cassidy was really funny and did a great job. She had a blast with all the kids in Yellow Company. They even had a party on Saturday at our house. It went pretty well. Cass seemed to have fun and I guess that is what counts.

With YTU over that means that I don’t get to take her to trax every morning – I will kinda miss that part of it. She will be home all day and I hope that things don’t get out of control. Sometimes having her home stirs up the emotions of everyone. I hope things can run smoothly.

Cassidy’s run of Grease also ended on Friday. She had fun with it, but not nearly as much fun as YTU. There was too much drama and the play itself wasn’t all that great.

Tanner is back in football. It takes up every night of the week. He loves it.

Parker is really into his BMX racing. It is good for him – it fits his temperment really well.

The younger girls are all in dance too.

Never a dull moment.

We hadn’t been up the canyon for a picnic this year and so on Friday I just ‘spur of the moment’ decided to take the kids and head up Big Cottonwood canyon. We stopped at Ledgemere and had hoagies. Chelsea and her boys came along too. It was nice. We ate and the kids hiked, got wet and explored a mine shaft.

Work was long and hard. We had two big projects go live this week. I spent a long time at work babysitting the processes. Also, I am having to pull Human Resources along kicking and screaming. They are just stumbling through things. I have had to spend way too much time on them.

Found out some friends were let go from their jobs this week too. I feel for them. This economy is tough all over. I feel lucky to have my job. I hope it will continue.

Tomorrow I turn forty. Weird. That’s old. Not sure how I feel about it.

Well – that is about all that my thumbs can do right now (must be the age).
