  • Got fuel, big gulp, and nachos (lots of jalepenos). Walked to the car and a strong wind ended up with nachos all over the parking lot. Doh! #
  • Small fix to sqlserver function – client can’t make up their mind on exactly what they want. Oh well – I get paid every time they change. #
  • Moving on to more familiar consulting ground. Back to oracle. It is so much easier – even on 9i. #
  • Taking the day off. Getting the lawn mowed and running errands. One quick con-call with Minneapolis then back to errands. #

  • Home from work, home from baseball, ready for consulting. When does the rollercoaster ride end? #
  • @CaliLewis I have an invite for you – What email should I direct it to? #
  • Ah, the consulting project went swimmingly well – I should do more but I’m sick of SqlServer for the night. #
  • Man, I am so tired this morning. Not quite sure why. The van ride awaits and hopefully a bit of a nap. #
  • Finished about a 4 mile run. The last part was in a light rain. It was great. The spring rain smell was perfect. I love runs like this. #

Korean Lunch, Baseball, and Angry Coaches

Filed under: Uncategorized — dto @ 10:31 pm

I had lunch with Wayne. He took me out to Korean – good company and good food. I like Wayne, he and I got to work on the Web Order Entry project. It was really nice getting to know him and it will be sad to leave and not work with him anymore. For every memory and person that I’ll miss I’m even more excited about going to the new job.

Tanner’s team just didn’t show up and ended up losing by one run. Nick the assistant coach screamed at his son after striking out to end the game. It wasn’t pretty. Tanner was really good with the kid – spent a fair amount of time trying to help him cope with the strikeout. He was quite compassionate. After the game parents complained left and right about the assistant coach. If he becomes the head coach next year I’m not sure that we’ll keep Tanner on his team. Tanner hates him and doesn’t respect him at all. I don’t really blame him.

Tanner was invited to go to a Bees game with JP. He had a blast and ended up winning a loaf of bread – weird.

Abigail’s 3rd B-Day

Filed under: family — dto @ 10:14 pm

Well, Abigail is now three. She can show you the fingers and everything. She just had the time of her life. She talked people into giving her cookies, a brownie, a box of twinkies, and 35 cents. I don’t know how she does it other than that she is so dang cute.

We went to McDonalds for dinner and she didn’t hardly eat anything – my guess is she ate too much sugar all day long. She just felt and acted like the little princess all day long. She was pretty pooped by bed time and didn’t give us any grief at all when we put her to bed. Tomorrow may be another story however….

  • Let the baseball begin. Parker starts things off. We may have to leave the game a bit early to get to Tanner’s game. #

Batboy and other ramblings

Batboy

At Parker’s game he got up in the first inning and hit a pitch down the third baseline. It is the first time that he got a hit directly from the coach without having to use the batting tee. He still doesn’t quite get the whole base-running thing. He hit the ball, took off his helmet and stood there. Everyone was hollering for him to run to first, which he eventually did. He is a funny little boy. We all love him a ton.

We had to leave early because the league messed up the game time for Parker’s game and so we got started 45 minutes late. By that time we only had time for him to play one inning before taking off to Tanner’s game. Normally we could figure this out, but Kris and Cassidy left on Friday to go visit her dad and to buy his old Camry, so I had the kids for the weekend. We had our logistical issues, but everything turned out fine. All is well, but we are all VERY glad that Kris is back to bring some sanity back to the household.

  • Left my phone on the vanpool van. Luckily someone found it. I was sick to death over it. #

Another Video – Kids in the Park

Filed under: family — dto @ 3:43 pm

I decided to give the video another shot. This time it is some of the snapshots of the kids in the park playing around. I like the effect of this one a little better. If nothing else they are interesting.

Spring is not here – slideshow

Filed under: family — dto @ 1:39 pm

This is a video generated by animoto with some of my pictures from the Sacred Grove. It turned out decent for a first try. I ought to play with it a bit more.

Spring is definitely not here yet. We woke up with snow on the ground again. I guess that winter isn’t quite ready to give it up yet.
